📊 Analytics Explained
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics with anonymous data collection to understand how users interact with our platforms. Without analytics, we'd be blind to what's working and what needs improvement. We don't collect personal data, but we can't verify what Google does with the data on their end. We're actively looking for better alternatives, including self-hosted solutions.
Cloudflare Analytics: We use Cloudflare for infrastructure and security. Cloudflare Analytics provides basic traffic metrics without tracking individual users.
📢 Ads Explained
Knowivate Ads: Our own privacy-friendly ad platform that works without personal data. Currently shows random ads or category-based ads (manually set based on page context). In the future, we'll analyze page content to show relevant ads without tracking users. Honestly, we don't like ads—they harm user experience and generate low revenue without tracking. But we keep them as an experiment.
Google Ads: While Google claims they don't use personal data for ads, we can't trust or verify third-party practices. That's why we avoid third-party ad networks. Google Ads may track users based on their preferences across the web.
Your Choice: We legally allow and encourage you to use ad blockers, element blockers, or browsers like Brave on Knowivate services. Using ad blockers is your right. As of now, we have funds to sustain the website, and we're trying to find a win-win solution for both users and sustainability.
